Patient Care Coordinator

Jackie joined our practice in September of 2015. She has over nine years experience in the medical field, primarily as a CNA. In each job she has had, she has enjoyed learning about that area of specialization. This has included Dementia, Williams Syndrome, and now eye care. Her college experience has been in the area of medicine and nutrition. She brings with her a hard work ethic and a caring touch. You will usually find her at our check out desk. Jackie enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and playing the piano.

Lead Optometric Assistant

Mellisa came to WECC in June of 2017 with 20 years of experience in eye care. She has worked in almost every area of an optometric practice, but truly prefers clinical care. Mellisa is a very social person, and enjoys getting to know each patient while performing exam pretesting and glaucoma workups. While not at work, Mellisa spends her time with her children, husband, or a great book.

Billing Coordinator

Rita joined WECC in 2016 with over 35 years of experience in the field! She has worked in almost every area of insurance and billing, including teaching medical billing and coding, and as a claims processor. Her wealth of knowledge and diligent work ethic has had a great impact on our practice. Rita works hard to make sure we make the most of your insurance benefits, while keeping out of pocket costs as low as possible. Rita is also a reflexologist, devoting much of her practice working with oncology patients.

Assistant Office Manager
You will most likely be greeted by Maria's warm smile when checking in for your annual eye exam. She has been with our office since 2011, and previously worked as a CNA for 15 years. When our office manager is unavailable, she runs the show! With her experience within the practice she can handle almost anything. She is often the one who verifies your insurance before you come in, and is always sure to inform all our patients of possible billing and insurance problems before they are seen.

Optometric Assistant
Emmali came to our office with years of previous experience in eye care. She will often assist patients during the pre-screening process. Emmali's kind and caring nature is the perfect addition to the Wallingford Eye Care family. She spends her free time with her husband, her daughter and son, and their dog Puzza.

Patient Care Coordinator

Veronica started at WECC in the summer of 2016. With the new growth of our practice, she was the perfect fit for our front desk team. Her friendly face is often a welcome sight to our patients, as is her attention to detail in verifying your paperwork and insurance information. Veronica is a graduate of Naugatuck Valley Community College, and has previous experience in healthcare and retail. She loves music, dancing, and celebrating life!

Optometric Assistant

Alyssa joined WECC in the spring of 2016 with over four years of experience in healthcare. Her background is quite varied, including fields such as broadcasting, retail, and skin care.  Alyssa is passionate about learning new things and exploring new places! Her dedication and hard work have been great assets during our transition to electronic health records. You will most likely meet Alyssa during the pre-screening process, where her efficiency and accuracy will reassure you of the quality of care at Wallingford Eye Care.

Office Manager
Jessica began working in the eye care field in 2004, and joined Wallingford Eye Care in 2009. Since becoming the Office Manager, she has made customer service our number one priority, and is always looking for ways to improve the patient experience. She asks patients to feel free to contact her with any thoughts on how we can better serve you!
