John N. Sienko, OD
Dr. Sienko has been practicing optometry at WECC since 1980. He's a graduate of Fairfield University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He continued his education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA and graduated with his Doctor of Optometry Degree. Also, he is certified for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Pharmaceuticals as well as Advanced Optometric Care by the Connecticut Optometry Board. He gained experience at the Joslin Diabetic Center in Boston, MA and Brighton Marine Hospital. In addition, he was a clinical instructor at the Boston Eye Clinic. Aside from his work at WECC, Dr. Sienko is the consultant optometrist for Gaylord Hospital and the eye care consultant for convalescent homes; Meriden Nursing Home, Regency House, Skyview, Middlesex, Ledgecrest, and Westfield. Dr Sienko is also on the State Board of Examiners for the Department of Public Health. He resides in Wallingford and when he's not devoting his time to his patients he is relaxing at the lake with his wife and two children. |

Ken Elder, OD
Born and raised in Niagara Falls Canada, Dr. Elder graduated from the State University of New York College of Optometry after serving an internship at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York City and with the Indian Health Service on the Navajo reservation in Winslow, Arizona.
Upon graduating, Dr. Elder completed his residency in Primary Care, also at SUNY. After his residency Dr. Elder served as clinic director for TLC Laser Eye Centers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Elder came to Connecticut in July of 2002 and joined our practice in May of 2007.
Dr. Elder lives in Southbury with his wife Janine, who is also an optometrist, and their sons Ryan and Sean.
When he is not seeing patients Dr. Elder enjoys golf, photographing historical sites, and cheering on his beloved Buffalo Sabres during the NHL hockey season. |
